2021 Spring Wings on King bird Surveys 22nd October - 22nd November
Calling all Tasmanian, Queensland, South and Western Australian birders. King Island birds need your help!
Visit the beautiful north western isle of Tasmania and lend a hand to conserving its unique birds
This spring is the 10th survey undertaken by the Wings on King project, and will complete the first five years of data collection enabling the first meaningful analysis to be undertaken. But once again COVID is making it difficult.
With Tasmania closed to visitors and returning residents from NSW and Victoria, we are going to be very short of hands, eyes and binoculars to carry out these springs surveys. So we have decided to undertake the surveys over a full month, to give flexibility and more options to all those who are keen and able to give us a hand.
The only thing we need is for all registrations to be in by October 20th. Field Plans will then be developed for all registered teams to make sure all the sites are surveyed and the landholders know whose coming and when they are due on their properties.
COME TO KING ISLAND, HAVE SOME FUN, EXPERIENCE THE WARMTH AND HOSPITALITY OF THE LOCAL KING ISLANDERS - AND CONTRIBUTE TO ITS CARE BY HELPING WITH THESE SURVEYS
REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW OPEN
