Visitor Information

Please find useful or important information below. Links will take you through to the King Island Tourism website; or feel free to browse the website yourself

The only way to get to King Island is by air - you can fly from Melbourne (Tullarmarine, Moorabbin or Essendon) or Tasmania (Burnie - Wynyard, Launceston or Hobart.

We are about a 35 minute flight from Melbourne Tullamarine.

Mobile Phones

Telstra Next G is the only network that receives coverage on the island.  SIM cards and mobile phones are available for purchase from the newsagent or post office.  MicroSIMS are not available for purchase.   International phones will probably work but we cannot guarantee this.

King Island is approximately 1098 square kilometres and has no public transport or taxis so a hire car is a must.

There are two car hire companies on the island, please click through for details.
