Diary Date: Wings on King Autumn Surveys 26-29th April, 2018
The Plan: The weekend will kick off with a Welcome and Orientation gathering in the evening of Thursday 26th. Surveys will be undertaken over the following Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings, allowing plenty of time for visitors to catch their 5 pm flights off the island. A casual social gathering and/or workshop will also be arranged with details to come. The itinerary is yet to be finalised so watch this space for more information.
Participation: Directly contributing towards the long-term well-being of King Island, its birds, its community and its environment, participants can join in for half a day, a whole day or for the full two and a half days. Registration provides you with the opportunity to choose your preference.
Of course, surveys can also be undertaken at any time throughout the year so if you can't make this weekend specifically or prefer to do your own thing, you can register at any time. A WoKA (Wings on King Assistant) will be allocated to assist you and plan your birding on King Island...
Visitors should book ASAP: The weekend directly follows Anzac Day, so visitors may like to come to the island early - but don't forget to book as soon as possible. With limited flights available and the golf season in full swing, flights and accomodation are limited.
We hope you will join us. Its free, its fun and its important...
