Count me in: WoKing around King Island…
Another fabulous birding weekend on King Island. The third Wings on King Survey took place on King Island over the last weekend in April. 27 people in 5 teams, monitored over 50 sites, in almost perfect birding weather conditions.
On Saturday evening we headed to the King Island District High School for the opening of a school exhibition 'Help: I'm endangered," - fantastic work by the KI kids. Then it was dinner at the KIDHS Rock Cafe, followed by the documentary 'The Desparate Plight of the Orange Bellied Parrot' made by David Neilson. This was followed by an Open Community Forum with an expert Panel - to discuss how we manage our endangered species on King Island.
It was a big weekend but fun was had by all.
